Loving others and yourself? Really? – See this | AWAYION BEAUTY

Hi, Friends!

Loving? Are you known for your loving personality? It’s tricky to think of yourself as “loving.” The clash between the moral definition of a “loving” individual and worldly paradigms can cause confusion. Given those circumstances, you have a fair chance of deceiving yourself.

Wild, eh?

How do you know you’re loving?

Uncover if you are truly loving others and yourself in this post. Because every girl in Christ should know if she is truly loving.

Super Awesome Side Note: Before we start, understand we will not claim contested truths. And we will refrain from falling into the trap of “teaching man-made ideas as commands from the Creator.”

Out of respect for believers, we will simply acknowledge the multiplicity of views on this subject (the keyword is “acknowledge” and not agree). So, always do further research.

Super Psst… the big secret I’ve been hinting around on social media for a few months now – is revealed… (it’s why I have been MIA for a bit…). Read on after this post for the juicy details.

*Disclaimer: These tips could be helpful. Especially if you are a believer in Christ. Always do further research. The sources for this or any post do not equal a full endorsement of any ministry or evangelist’s personal views by Awayion.com.***

TL:DR A quick post glance:

  1. So what is “loving”… ?
  2. You and the greatest command… + a quiz
  3. Think on this…

Sound juicy? Okay, Ladies. Let’s start.

1. So what is “loving”… ?

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the term “loving” is defined as the act of feeling or demonstrating love and care for someone or something (oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com, 2023).

The Greek word agapáō” (ἀγαπάω)(“to love”) means actively doing what the Lord prefers, with Him (by His power and direction). True agapáō (“loving”) is always defined by God — a “discriminating affection which involves choice and selection “(WS, 477). 1 John 4:8,16,17 for example convey how loving (“preferring,” 25 /agapáō) is Christ living His life through the believer (25. agapaó 2023).

The definition above of the Greek word agapáōimplies that our Creator, who embodies love, teaches you how to be loving. Now we have our definitions of “loving” — let’s delve into whether you genuinely exhibit love.

2. You and the greatest command… + a quiz

Loving

For believers, being seen as “loving” involves having a heartfelt love for our Creator, ourselves, and everyone we encounter. In other words, actually following His greatest commandment to love. “Where can you research this?” you ask. You can research this in the Decalogue, a sacred historical text that outlines being “loving.”

That being said, let’s have some fun and take a cheesy “loving” quiz, without a score breakdown, to see how loving you are. Please answer the following questions with a simple yes or no. Ready? Let’s start:

Do you love our Creator? Seriously?

Do you have philanthrópia, meaning, do you love humanity? Or do they have to look a certain way, or share beliefs, etc. for you to love humanity?

Do you exhibit philagathos, meaning, do you love that which is good? Or do you secretly love what is evil?

Do you show plésion, meaning, do you love your neighbor? Like, really?

Do you have philádelphos, meaning, do you love fellow family-members? Or the redeemed people in God’s family?

Do you exhibit philoxenos, meaning, are you loving towards strangers?

Do you show philostorgos, meaning, are you tenderly loving?

Now you have completed the quiz. Your responses will hint at whether you are a loving gal. Did you find yourself saying “no” more often than “yes,” or was it the opposite?

3. Think on this…

You may have just realized you are not a very loving lady. That being said, you need help. Researchers say the purposes of the our Creator’s commandments are to force people to realize that they cannot perfectly obey the Law (Romans 7:7-11), and are so in need of God’s mercy and grace — which is available via faith in Yeshua (Index and Bible, 2022). You read that correctly. This means nobody can 100% obey — despite their claims to do so.

So, how can you be more “loving”? You can start by studying the life of Yeshua Messiah (Christ Jesus of Nazareth) and trying to embody His loving personality. That act alone helps you take steps towards being a more loving person.
