Think for yourself. No. Really. Do it. | AWAYION BEAUTY
Hi, Friends!
Thinking. Isn’t that quite a fancy idea? However, it is intriguing to observe that many individuals have somehow succumbed to the influence of society, requiring guidance on their thought processes and even facing repercussions for actually thinking. Gnarly, eh?
The situation becomes even more complex when believers find themselves in the delicate position of relying on someone else other than Christ Himself to guide their thoughts. Wild, eh?
So what should you do?
Explore 3 key concepts you should contemplate in order to enhance your ability to think for yourself. Because every girl in Christ should be able to think clearly.
Super Awesome Side Note: Before we start, understand we will not claim contested truths. And we will refrain from falling into the trap of “teaching man-made ideas as commands from the Creator.”
Out of respect for believers, we will simply acknowledge the multiplicity of views on this subject (the keyword is “acknowledge” and not agree). That said, this is a non-exhaustive list. So use this list to do further research.
Super Psst… the big secret I’ve been hinting around about on social media for a while now has finally been revealed… (its also why I have been MIA for a bit… and why I would be in the future… hmm.) Read on after this post for the juicy details.
*Disclaimer: These ideas can help you if you use self-control. And these tips could help you if you are a believer in Christ. Also, always do further research. Also, the sources for this or any post do not equal a full endorsement of any ministry or evangelist’s personal views by Awayion.com.***
TL:DR A quick post glance:
- Question belief
- Question why you are being told how to think
- Question reality
Sound great? Okay, ladies. Let’s start.
1. Question belief
Recognizing the importance of contemplating and questioning one’s deeply ingrained biblical beliefs and ideas is essential for spiritual growth. Letting go of certain misinterpreted spiritual concepts can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of how to think for yourself. (Psst… I am not advocating embracing new age, or abandoning biblical concepts. MmOkay!)
Just picture yourself reading a verse from the historical text in the Bible, committing it to memory, and then realizing that you completely misunderstood its context and may have even memorized a mistranslation. And or listened to some pastor, prophet, teacher, guru, who missed misunderstood the Bible text too. It is in situations like this example where you should think about your skewed, possibly deeply ingrained biblical beliefs and ideas. By doing so, you soon realize the biblical historical text was likely NOT originally written in your native language, colloquialisms are different, and the people who wrote it lived in a completely different culture and followed different social norms and references than those in modern times.
If the above example doesn’t resonate with you, think about this for a moment. Critics of the biblical historical text argue that there is a difference between the God portrayed in the old and new testaments. The views of Marcion, a Christian theologian and accused heretic who also made the same argument, influenced this idea. Marcion argued the existence of two separate deities in the Judeo-Christian tradition. That’s right. This guy argues God is distinct, and critics have seized upon this argument, thus creating a skewed belief system, even though God Himself has stated that He does not change. Now, do you see why you must question your beliefs and think for yourself, yet?
Now, let’s consider this argument in a scholarly manner. The biblical historical texts are a collection of scrolls that translators have categorized. Read that again. The word “categorized” is key. So, we should question the belief of how God is argued to be different in a categorized collection of scrolls when He claims in Malachi 3:6 that He does not change.
That being said, what could be workable solutions to tackle these issues in the examples above? One approach proposes incorporating prayer for wisdom and embracing a scholarly mindset (aka exergisis). This includes delving into the mindset of individuals during that time period, as well as their relationship with context clues, alliterations, and other literary devices found in the historical biblical collection. (Super Awesome Side Note: Taking the scholarly approach does not imply that you do not have the Holy Spirit’s guidance.)
These examples illustrate the importance of questioning your biblical beliefs in order to think critically and independently.

2. Question why you are being told how to think
Every day, you find yourself constantly bombarded by individuals who try to dictate your thoughts and opinions. These individuals can range from self-proclaimed pastors, prophets, politicians, influencers, celebrities, to the legacy media outlets. Most whom critics assert are receiving payment to endorse the ideas of those who support them. Wild, eh?
Seems thinking for yourself is a battle, eh? Is, it? Well, based on the historical biblical text, it is believed that the battle you are currently involved in is spiritual not physical. Therefore, being able to understand who is influencing your thoughts requires a high level of discernment.
So really, where can you see this battle for your thoughts? Well, in America, individuals who either hold positions of influence or perceive themselves to be in such positions commonly use the following phrases:
America is outraged…
All Americans feel…
All Americans agree…
Time and time again, none of these influential individuals interview all Americans – yes, every single American – to truly validate these statements. So how can they truly understand how you feel? Or, tell you how to think? I’m not asking you to take my word for it, but consider this: have they (legacy media, influencers, talking heads, etc) ever taken the time to ask you, an American, for your thoughts on anything prior to publishing these statements each and every time? Nope. Gnarly, eh? But, but, statistics, right? Meh.
Critics argue individuals who either hold positions of influence or perceive themselves to be in such positions employed this groupthink tactic for controlling your mindset (aka telling how to think/feel). It’s quite surprising, isn’t it? It seems that they (legacy media, influencers, talking heads, etc) are leveraging the human desire for acceptance, as described in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, to promote groupthink. Because who doesn’t want to be a part of a group and think for themselves, right? (sarcasm)
That being said, it is important to acknowledge that the historical biblical texts emphasize the importance of spiritual warfare over one’s thoughts. The biblical text highlights the need for you to approach this aspect from a spiritual standpoint in order to maintain independent thinking. So, where is this mentioned in the historical biblical text? Well, in ancient times, the heart was considered to be the residence of the mind. As a result, Proverbs 4:23 advises you to safeguard your heart (aka thoughts), which essentially encourages you to think independently. Fancy, eh?
So because you find yourself constantly bombarded by individuals who try to dictate your thoughts and opinions, it is important to encourage yourself to think independently, fight spiritually with discernment. And question why you are being told how to think.

3. Question reality
Today, you are being urged on web 2.0 and via legacy media to question your reality. You may wonder in what way. Interestingly, in November 2024, the United States government officially recognized the presence of alien lifeforms. Such a revelation could certainly make even the most skeptical individuals doubt their perception of reality, don’t you think?
Now, this government alien revelation is not entirely new, as historical biblical texts had already documented encounters with beings from the heavens over five thousand years ago. These biblical texts provide many accounts of eyewitnesses corroborating these encounters. In fact, in Ephesians 6:12, the biblical text explicitly states that our battles are not against mere flesh and blood, but rather against rulers, authorities, the powers of darkness in this world, and the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. This verse serves as a clear sign of the presence of otherworldly entities in our physical realm.
Having said that, it is important to question your reality and reflect on why you are being inticed to do so by those in power at this particular moment. The following questions may arise as you do so: Are others attempting to dismantle organized religion? And if so, do they comprehend that the existence of nonhuman alien lifeforms is not a new concept for believers who have extensively studied the scriptures? Are they trying to usher in the antichrist, like really? Do they understand that non humans have already mated with women to create the NEPHILIM? Do they realize in the days of Noah we had transhuman life? Meh?
Having said that, it is crucial to question your reality to improve your capacity for independent thinking. Also known as improving your capacity to think for yourself!
