So you’re a good person, right? – See this | AWAYION BEAUTY

Hi, Friends!

Good person? Well, thinking you are a “good” lady can be tricky. Conflicts between the moral definition of what makes a “good” individual and worldly ideas & paradigms, can blur the lines. At that, chances are, you could deceive yourself.

Wild, eh?

How do you know you’re good?

In this post, discover if you’re a good person. Because every girl in Christ should know His definition of good.

Super Awesome Side Note: Before we start, understand we will not claim contested truths. And we will refrain from falling into the trap of “teaching man-made ideas as commands from the Creator.”

Out of respect for believers, we will simply acknowledge the multiplicity of views on this subject (the keyword is “acknowledge” and not agree). So, always do further research.

Super Psst… the big secret I’ve been hinting around on social media for a few months now – is revealed… (it’s why I have been MIA for a bit…). Read on after this post for the juicy details.

*Disclaimer: These tips could be helpful. Especially if you are a believer in Christ. Always do further research. The sources for this or any post do not equal a full endorsement of any ministry or evangelist’s personal views by Awayion.com.***

TL:DR A quick post glance:

  1. So what is “good”… ?
  2. You and the decalogue…
  3. Think on this…

Sound juicy? Okay, Ladies. Let’s start.

1. So what is “good”… ?

The Greek word agathós” (ἀγαθός) means “intrinsically good, good in nature, good whether it be seen to be so or not, the widest and most colorless of all words with this meaning.“ (Strong’s Greek: 18. ἀγαθός (agathos) — good, 2022). That said, this word can be compared to the Greek word kalós — which means “attractively good; good that inspires (motivates) others to embrace what is lovely (beautiful, praiseworthy); i.e. well done so as to be winsome (appealing).” (Strong’s Greek: 2570. καλός (kalos) — beautiful, good, 2022). Both Greek words described here are adjectives.

That being said, in the O. T. the term ‘righteous’ makes reference to a covenant and to one’s relation to a positive standard; ἀγαθός (agathós) would express the absolute idea of moral goodness” (Zezschwitz, Profangraec. u. Biblical Sprachgeist, Leipz. 1859, p. 60). Cf. Tittm., p. 19. On the comparison of ἀγαθός, see B. 27 (24).)

Given that ἀγαθός (agathós) would express the absolute idea of moral goodness. Where can we find our Creator’s opinion about what makes a “good” individual? The interaction between Yeshua (Christ Jesus of Nazareth) and the rich ruler in Mark 10 gives us a clue. Upon study of this interaction, an ultimate conclusion is a distinction between man’s standard of goodness and God’s (YHWH) standard — with our Creator’s standard being that forsaking all and following Jesus makes one good.

So, how are you to follow Christ? Well, Yeshua taught His disciples (aka followers) “to observe all that I commanded you…” (11 Bible verses about Keeping Christ’s Commands, 2022).

Now we have our Creator’s definition of “good” — let’s explore real-life scenarios and countermeasures.

2. You and the decalogue…

good person

To be considered “good” is to obey Christ’s commands — in the Decalogue. What is the Decalogue, you ask? The Ten Commandments (known as the Decalogue) are ten laws in the Bible that God (YHWH) gave to the nation of Israel after the exodus from Egypt. The Ten Commandments are a summary of the 613 commandments in the Old Testament Law (Index and Bible, 2022).

At that, let’s see how “good” you are… shall we? Have you ever lied? Do you love a YouTuber or other celeb or regular Joe so much — they control your time, money, thoughts, etc? Do you fantasize about them or others sexually — despite not being married to them? Do you copy other people’s work — such as streaming movies you did not buy? Do you crave other people’s property? Have you spread gossip about someone you know or not?

Okay, let’s stop here. If you have answered yes to all these questions, that makes you a lying, idolatrous, adulterous, covetous, gossiping thief. Worthy of our Heavenly Father’s wrath. Sobering thought, eh? We have only focused on 6 commands in the Decalogue — 4 more exist. Still believe you are “good”?

3. Think on this…

You may have just realized you are not a good person. At that, you need help. Researchers say the purposes of the Ten Commandments are to force people to realize that they cannot perfectly obey the Law (Romans 7:7-11), and are so in need of God’s mercy and grace — which is available via faith in Yeshua (Index and Bible, 2022). You read that correctly. This means nobody can 100% obey — despite their claims to do so.

How can you be “good”? Having faith in Yeshua is your solution. That act alone makes you a “good” person. Knowing this, you can now let out an enormous sigh of relief.
