Sin and you. Yes, you! – See this | AWAYION BEAUTY

Hi, Friends!

Sin? Hmm, do you like it?

Do you keep on doing it again and again?

Wait, do you know what “sin” means? Let’s fix that real quick. In the original Greek New Testament, the most common word translated as “sin” or “sins” is “hamartia”. Vine says “hamartia” means “literally missing of the mark.” (New Testament Greek Words For Sin, 2022).

That said, are you in agreement with a secret or blatant sin?

Not Sure? You know unrepented sin can lead you to Hell, right? (Yep, I said it! Psst… see 1 John 5:16,17)

In this post, discover if you agree with sin and how to counter it. Because every girl should be as wise as a serpent.

Super Awesome Side Note: Before we start, understand we will not claim contested truths. And we will refrain from falling into the trap of “teaching man-made ideas as commands from the Creator.”

Out of respect for believers, we will simply acknowledge the multiplicity of views on this subject (the keyword is “acknowledge” and not agree). So, always do further research.

Super Psst… the big secret I’ve been hinting around on social media for a few months now – is revealed… (it’s why I have been MIA for a bit…). Read on after this post for the juicy details.

*Disclaimer: These tips could be helpful. Especially if you are a believer in Christ. Always do further research. The sources for this or any post do not equal a full endorsement of any ministry or evangelist’s personal views by Awayion.com.***

TL:DR A quick post glance:

  1. So let’s define “Sin” further…
  2. What are you doing?
  3. The only way out

Sound juicy? Okay, Ladies. Let’s start.

1. So let’s define “Sin” further…

The Greek word “hamartema” means “an act of disobedience to divine law” The bible used this word in Mark 3:28, Romans 3:25 and 1 Corinthians 6:18. This shows God is concerned about the specific sins of Christians and not just sin (New Testament Greek Words For Sin, 2022).

Now we have our definition of sin — let’s explore real life scenarios and countermeasures.

2. What are you doing?

sin

Similar to the other “And, you” posts — in this Inner Beauty series — the purpose of this post is obvious. This post is not based on presumption or speculation. Or to condemn — because our Creator fills that role — only He can condemn. That said, the behavior of a sinner shows a lost condition.

At that, what are you doing? If you are not bothered by your sin, do you think because a wayward pastor preached “hyper grace” you get a pass on your iniquity? Even worse, why do you think it’s okay to sin? Are you secretly saying to yourself, “I don’t think it’s okay to sin.” Well, our Heavenly Father led you to this post for a reason, perhaps a wake up call. Ask Him for wisdom.

Still not sure if you think it’s okay to sin? Ask yourself the following questions, and answer honestly. Ready? Okay. Why do you think it’s okay for others to lead sinful lives? Oh, you don’t? Are you sure? Have you ever said, “what others do is their business?” Remember, “The Great Commission” is required of all believers. Knowing that, how can you justify ignoring your fellow man’s walk towards eternal damnation? Do you really love your neighbor? Remember the above series of questions are not to condemn you.

Enough questions. Let’s look at a pattern. Sin begins in the following ways and waxes worse; (a.) first, you periodically start sinning against the Holy Spirit by resisting Him and His Word, (b.) then you start refusing to listen to and obey God’s Word, and (c.) you later succumb to committing willful sin — defiantly engaging in those sins without regret. Can you see yourself doing this? If so, repent.

One thing is to commit sin, another is to realize that God will judge all our unconfessed or unrepented sins. When we practice sin, we make ourselves vulnerable and, most painfully, we become slaves to sin (Oghenekaro, 2022).

That said, you must examine yourself to see if you have unconfessed or unrepented sin. Even if you think you don’t have any — ask God (YHWH) to reveal sin in your life. Remember, you will stand before our Heavenly Father by yourself.

Now, let’s look at the countermeasure to sinning.

3. The way out…

When a sinner delays his obedience to God (YHWH), he can reach the “past-redemption” point. He can resist the Holy Spirit for such a long period that his heart is no longer capable of being softened. Some have already passed that mark in their hearts. Only Jesus knows for sure. Be warned that such an invisible line exists. If we trifle with the grace of God and make a game out of our Christianity, one of these days we will cross that line, and it will be too late to repent (Oghenekaro, 2022).

So what is the solution to this problem? The answer is to remember and fully except the sacrifice Messiah Yeshua (aka Christ Jesus of Nazareth) made on the behalf of all mankind — next repent, ask our Heavenly Father for forgiveness, obey the Living Word, and sin no more.
