The affirmation above is my modus operandi (Psst… the affirmation above is referring to our Creator). Now you know that random fact about me — this post you are reading is something I’m calling potpourri!

Instead of the next Inner Beauty post, I am sharing my simple random thoughts, my potpourri. Get it? Smell it? No? It smells like fresh cut roses. (Extra, I know.)

That said, do not fret, we will return to our regularly scheduled program of Inner Beauty posts — every 3rd Thursday — in just a bit. So for now, enjoy!

1. Owie – potpourri

For starters, I lost a “Street-Fighter” battle with a lovely pair of apple cutters.

On a cool crisp autumn morning, I pushed a juicy red delicious apple thru a state-of-the-art forest green apple cutter. Without warning — my right thumb slipped onto its’ razor-sharp blades. I will spare you the gruesome details of my injury. So, let’s stop right here and say — Apple cutter = 1 vs. Aubrey’s thumb = 0.

At that, I lost an entire week’s worth of work and play to an apple cutter injury. Owie!

Now you may ask, does our Creator allow bad things to happen to good people? Short answer, yes. (Psst… only Yeshua Messiah (Christ Jesus) was good — and He was crucified.) Nothing happens in the spiritual and physical without His permission. But don’t take my word for it, read the book of Job — and note Job’s reaction to bad news.

On a positive note, I received the blessing of needed rest during my hiatus. Bonus.

2. What’s going on?

What’s going on?

Not sure how to answer the question.

That said, is it only me — or do you feel we arrived by train in Crazyville? And nobody purchased a ticket to return to Normalville? Maybe it’s just me. Wild, eh?

At the moment, I know believers are hurting, confused, overwhelmed, mad, and discouraged — because of the barrage of overwhelming spiritual and physical attacks launched upon them. This has led some believers to be discouraged in their faith (if that is you — grab a Bible or my book to strengthen your faith).

The prophecies of Messiah Yeshua (aka Christ Jesus of Nazareth) warned you of times as these. That said, you could use encouragement, eh?

At that, I will not use the cliche statement of everything will be alright soon — because we haven’t seen what tomorrow brings. We only have now. The good news is we have hope in Christ via His plans working for good. Even greater, if you profess Christ as your Savior — you are in excellent hands. Remind yourself of this when you feel hopeless.
