Your ignored prayers + how to fix that now | AWAYION BEAUTY
Hi, Friends!
Have you ever wondered why it feels like your prayers are being ignored by our Creator?
You’ve been fervently praying for days, weeks, months, or even years, yet it appears your pleas are falling on deaf ears. Don’t fret, I completely empathize with you.
So, why is this happening?
In this post, delve into the reasons behind why your prayers may be ignored by God and how to address those issues. Because every girl in Christ deserves to feel heard by her Heavenly Father. Super Awesome Side Note: You can read the Cliff’s notes version here.
Super Awesome Side Note: Before we start, understand we will not claim contested truths. And we will refrain from falling into the trap of “teaching man-made ideas as commands from the Creator.”
Out of respect for believers, we will simply acknowledge the multiplicity of views on this subject (the keyword is “acknowledge” and not agree). That said, this is a non-exhaustive list. So use this list to do further research.
Super Psst… the big secret I’ve been hinting around about on social media for a few months now has finally been revealed… (its also why I have been MIA for a bit… ) Read on after this post for the juicy details.
*Disclaimer: These ideas can help you if you use self-control. And these tips could help you if you are a believer in Christ. Also, always do further research. Also, the sources for this or any post do not equal a full endorsement of any ministry or evangelist’s personal views by Awayion.com.***
TL:DR A quick post glance:
- Your unconfessed sin
- Your disobedience
- Your wrong motives
- Your lack of Faith
- Your insincerity
Sound awesome ladies? Okay, let’s start!
1. Your unconfessed sin
Your unconfessed sin could be the reason your prayers are ignored by our Creator. So, what qualifies as sin? According to Strong’s Greek 265, the word for sin is hamartéma. Hamartéma is defined as a sin, focusing on its result, which is the painful linkages of sin (hamartia). The term emphasizes the consequences of making decisions by oneself instead of having faith in God’s inworked persuasion. Romans 14:23 illustrates this.
Now that we have sin defined, how can it affect your prayers? Having any sin, especially willful sin in your life, can dampen the connection between our Creator and your prayers. Have you ever come across the verse that says, “… if I had thought about doing anything sinful, The Lord (our Creator) would not have listened to me?” If so, the weight of those words settles upon you, and you understand why our Creator appears to ignore your prayers. Think about it, just by thinking of sin, you can be condemned. So, the consequences appear to be much worse (aka prayers ignored + more) if you are in willful (unconfessed) sin.
Don’t worry, there is a solution. By confessing your sins to our Heavenly Father (and asking for forgiveness) before you ask Him for anything, you can restore the purity of your heart and be forgiven. Like a puzzle piece fitting perfectly into its place, your confession solves the problem and restores purity, allowing your prayers to be heard once again. Yay!

2. Your disobedience
Your disobedience could be the reason your prayers are ignored by our Creator. So, what qualifies as disobedience? Strong’s Greek 543 provides a definition of disobedience as “apeitheia,” which describes someone who is not persuaded. It refers to a willful unbelief and the refusal to be convinced by God’s voice. The word-family of apeitheia focuses on man’s decision to reject God’s offers of faith and refusal to be persuaded in their heart to obey His will.
Now that we have disobedience defined, let’s explore how it can affect your prayers. According to scriptures, the Creator disregards your prayers when you choose to “do as thou wilt” — a concept that goes against biblical teachings — instead of obeying His will.
That being said, have you come across the verse that states, “… he that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination?” If you have read this verse, you understand the profound importance Christ places on obeying His Father’s commands. In order to fix this problem and maintain answered prayers, immerse yourself in the scriptures for wisdom and wholeheartedly embrace Christ’s explicit commands in your daily routine.
Remember, love is the ultimate command that encompasses all others. Simple, eh?

3. Your wrong motives
Your wrong motives could be the reason your prayers are ignored by our Creator. So, what qualifies as wrong motives? According to Strong’s 92, we can define wrong motives as “adíkēma,” which stems from the Greek word for “unrighteousness.” Adíkēma refers to acts that go against God’s justice or judgments and emphasizes the consequences that follow. It is wrongdoing that invites divine retribution.
Now that we have wrong motives defined, let’s explore how it can affect your prayers. Craving something with lust is an example of this. As a result, because of your lust, your prayers could go unnoticed.
How so, you ask? Have you come across the verse that states, “… when you pray for things, you don’t get them because you want them for the wrong reason for your own pleasure?” If you are aware of this, then you understand how misguided motives (aka lust) can make your prayers unheard.
But, there is a remedy for this predicament — seek a pure heart. A heart devoid of impurities allows you to align your yearnings with the Will of our Divine Creator. It is when your desires harmonize with His Will that God responds to your prayers.
SUPER AWESOME SIDE NOTE: Please know that our Creator’s desires for you are more than you could ever ask or think — guaranteed.

4. Your lack of faith
Having unbelief could cause your prayers to only reach the top of the ceiling. So, what qualifies as unbelief? According to Strong’s 570, we can define unbelief as “apistía,” which is the negated form of “pistós” meaning “faithful.” It refers to a lack of divine persuasion and can be understood as “no-faithfulness” or “want of faith,” implying a betrayal of trust.
Now that we have a clear definition of unbelief, let’s delve into its impact on your prayers. Have you come across the verse that states, “… when you make a request, you must do so with no doubts?” If you have, then you understand how unbelief could cause our Heavenly Father to disregard your prayers.
There is a resolution to this dilemma. Embrace the truth of God’s Word with all your heart, and watch as the doubts dissipate, making way for a stronger connection with our Creator and your prayers answered.

5. Your insincerity
Being insincere or deceitful could be the reason our Creator ignores your prayers. So, what qualifies as insincerity? According to Strong’s 539, deceitfulness or being insincere can be defined as apaté. Apaté refers to creating a false impression with the intention to deceive or cheat, often motivated by guile and treachery. It involves trickery and fraud.
Now that we have a definition of being insincere or deceitful, let’s delve into its impact on your prayers.
You cannot deceive our Creator with false loyalty and expect your prayers to be answered. The words of The Lord resonate, “These individuals praise me superficially, their lips uttering honor, but their hearts remain distant. Their worship is confined by human-made regulations.” If you are aware of this, then you understand that our Heavenly Father perceives insincerity and disregards insincere prayers.
But, you can rectify this situation by wholeheartedly seeking wisdom from our Heavenly Father via prayer and reading His logos.
